Year 10 Retreat- Soli
What is it?
Soli is a retreat centre which supports schools and parishes in offering life changing retreat and outreach opportunities for young people up to 25. The Soli experience is tailor made to support the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing of young people through deepening of relationships with each other and moments of encounter with Jesus led by a dynamic peer ministry team and experienced qualified staff. A bit about the history
Soli been ministering to young people and parishes from the Birmingham Archdiocese and beyond for over 70 years. When Soli first opened up, it was situated in Stratford-upon-Avon; Soli moved to Alton, Staffordshire in 2013, where it is now situated next to its sister centre, Alton Castle. The two centres offer retreat experiences for thousands of young people every year, with Soli serving those aged 14 and up.
BGN at Soli
Our Year 10 students go on a residential retreat to Soli, usually in May. Over the course of a week, students have the opportunity to explore issues of faith and think about their place in the world- in their families, groups they are part of and of course the global community. Through a mixture of discussion, workshops, activity, liturgy and the celebration of the sacraments, students can develop their friendships with each other and deepen their relationship with God.
